I woke up much later than I had been for the last five days of alpine starts, it was nice not to have to get started in the dark.

There was a waterfall on the rocks above camp from the snowmelt and after breakfast I headed back across the suncups along Thousand Island lake to get to the trail.

I stopped at the end of Thousand Island Lake to take some pictures, about this time I met the first people I had seen in 5 days, there was a group of 4 guys hiking the PCT sleeping next to the trail and a couple other groups.

Looking back up to North Glacier Pass

After this point there was more hard going to get over the ridge and back down the the trail. Eventually I was able to find the trail and then it was pretty uneventful hiking all the way back to the trail head.
